“As a child, SCYC brought me into contact with many Christian men who really cared about the future of their campers. The counselors were mentors who helped bring me out of a shell that I always hid behind as a kid. They all helped shape me into the person I am today. I can honestly say what I experienced at SCYC will probably have lasting effects even in my later years of life. I would advise any parent to expose their children to SCYC.”

“My favorite part about SCYC would easily be the friends and family I’ve made there. God crossed my path with some seriously amazing people that I might not have met if not for camp. Everybody likes it!”

“SCYC holds a very special place in my heart. Growing up in a small church in Georgia, I was never a part of a big youth group and didn’t get to go to camps and youth trips that often. When I was 13, John Kilgore asked me to go with him to a camp that I knew nothing about, and I was a little curious about what it was going to be like. But, as soon as I got there, all of my worries were erased. There were no strangers. Everyone was there because they love Jesus and, whether we had ever met before or not, that made us all family. I spent the next 6 summers at SCYC as a camper and one more as a counselor, and the feelings of love and fellowship were always there. We are all united through our love for Christ and SCYC makes that bond even stronger.”

“SCYC is definitely a place where you can know that the future of the church is bright.”
